Oral Pathology
Oral pathology describes the study of the health of the mouth and the diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases.
While dental decay and periodontal disease are the most common oral diseases, there are other diseases that can affect the mouth and surrounding structures. Some of these conditions may be painful or result in lumps in the mouth or a change in colour of the lining of the mouth. Other conditions, however, may give no symptoms until late in their course, or may be a manifestation of an underlying systemic disease.
For these reasons, it is very important to keep regular appointments with your dentist, so that they can refer you to Dr Anthony Naim if any abnormalities are discovered in your mouth. With early diagnosis we can often prescribe treatment for a better outcome.
